The Dormitory
A whole floor kept entirely for them — four house-shaped beds and a nanny’s couch for the long readings. The PlayStation is optional; the table football is not.

The Bathroom
“A bathroom is a small room. A child’s bathroom is a small kingdom.”
The mirror is shaped like Mickey’s ears — the first thing they notice. A low trough sink, a hooded lion robe, and bath times that run longer here than they do at home.
Chapter 3
Mickey plates,
three teddy bears.
The Long Breakfast
“A small section of the long table is theirs. The bears eat first.”
Breakfast runs late. The chef sets a child’s spread beside the grown-up one — porridge, juice, crepes, Mickey plates. They sit at the funniest end of the long table.

Aprons, chef hats, flour on cheeks. The chef walks them through pizza dough, fresh pasta, and biscuits. Lunch is whatever they made.

A folded parchment, fourteen clues, the cove at the end. Forty minutes for the brave. A wooden chest, found.

The full-size foosball table in the games room. Blue versus orange, best of three. The rules are house rules, and they get heated.

Helmets, harnesses, the island track. The trophy goes to the slowest improver as often as the fastest lap.

Bathrobes built for small shoulders, cucumber eye-pads, mock facials made with edible things. Their first spa day.

From the first balance lesson to a run across the bay. A patient instructor and sheltered water to learn on.

A coach for the morning. Stretches, balance work and light routines on a mat by the water, before lunch.

A proper coach, a proper ball, a proper pitch nearby. Drills first, then a match — three-a-side, no offside, no excuses.

Homemade Salve

Local herbs, beeswax, a small kitchen lab. They mix, pour and label, then leave with three jars of the garden.
